Our team is all about classic rallying. It is our teams view that the true ‘Golden Days’ of rallying were in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s, also known as the ‘Group 4’ days. Our team regards this era of rallying as a nostalgic time, where the sport truly had a spirit of adventure. This spirit of adventure encouraged people to pack up and travel to different and extravagant locations to spectate unique cars and race in all the beautiful scenery Australia has to offer. Whenever the spectators could feel the rumble of the next car throttling through the stage, an air thick with electricity and excitement never failed to fill the crowd.
In many regards, Snooks Motorsport is a product of my family that was heavily involved in the sport before I was even born. It has been something that has always captivated my family; almost like its in our blood. I was fortunate enough to accompany my Father, Tom Snooks, on my first motorsport adventure back in 1988, and then again in 1989 in the Australian Safari at it’s absolute peak where we traveled through the outback, exploring our way alongside these phenomenal cars that simply commanded awe. In fact, many of the stories that you’ll see on this site have been written by my Father, who has not only played a fundamental role in my involvement in the sport, but has also played a pivotal role in the world of classic rallying.
